2
players at a time can play Queen's Guard.
Each
player gets one "Queen" and six guards for play.
The
Queen's Guard game board has 91 spaces.
The
game is won when a player succeeds in placing his "Queen"
in the center space and surrounds it on all sides with his guards.
To
start play, the pieces are placed as shown above in the top picture.
(In the example above, the black players Queen is the green marble shown
on the left.)
Each
player moves one piece in a turn. A piece may only be moved into an
empty space. A player that touches his piece must move that piece or
forfeit his turn.
Except
when a piece is trapped between two opposing pieces, it may be moved
one space sideways, or toward the center of the board as shown in example
"A" above.
If
a guard piece is trapped between two opposing pieces as shown in example
"B" above, the player must in his next turn move the trapped
piece to any empty space on the outside rim of the board. If more than
one guard is trapped, a player must move those pieces to the rim in
turn before any other moves may be made.
If
a Queen is trapped between two opposing pieces, see example "C"
above, it's owner must move it to any empty space that the opponent
directs him to place it.
Trapped
guards may be moved back in any order but a trapped Queen must always
be moved back before any guard is moved.
Only
a "Queen" may be placed in the center space. The game is forfeited
if a player positions all six guards in the spaces surrounding the center
space and it is empty.
This
is a tough and challenging strategy game.
This
game can be washed!
Game
comes with two sets of six marbles (may vary in color) to be played
as guards and two unique marbles to be played as "Queens"
and instructions. The hexagon board is approximately 10 & 1/4 inches
in width (point to point) and 3/4 inches tall.
