Elvin Games is a dedicated
web site for games developed by Danial Miller as a personal hobby.
Growing up playing board
games was always one of the highlights of living in a world where
the Internet and video games did not exist yet. In many cases, as
kids and families, we played on home made game boards and had just
as much fun on those old wooden boards as we ever did on commercial
game boards.
During the 70's and 80's,
Danial's family spent many an evening and weekend playing board games
to get out of the heat of the desert during the summer and out of
the cold during the winter. As an inventor and builder, it wasn't
unusual for new games either invented, or made up from ancient games
to show up in the Miller household to be played and tested. Those
were the fun days when just playing with family and friends was simple
and we enjoyed each others company.
Board games are still Danial's
personal hobby and will probably always be as new games are still
being invented and tested for play in the Miller home.
Board games bring people
together. It makes you think, plan, and interact on a level that is
competitive in a good way, and keeps the mind sharp. This is why we
like to think that board games will never become obsolete as they
seem to stick around and get stored away for a while, but always seem
to make their way back to the table on occasions.
Danial held a game night
at a local used book store that is very popular in Tucson. People
of all ages came to this event or just walked in to see what was going
on. It was fantastic to see grandparents interacting with kids, parents
against parents, kids playing with other kids, and people just enjoying
themselves.
It wasn't but a few minutes
and the room was packed. We had about 10 long tables set up with games
and all of them were in play at the same time and people were having
a blast. We all had fun and the experience of seeing your own games
being played by people you didn't know, and having fun at it was exhilarating.
Elvin Games will continue
to grow as Danial has time to make or invent new games to add to this
site.
To simplify keeping up
with all of Danial's projects and products, all of our games here
are now being placed on the DANMILL™ web site and shopping mall
for purchasing. This web site will still remain as the games official
information page and each game's page will have a direct link to the
shopping mall to buy them from there.
